When asked if Brighton Sign Company would undertake another local sign maintenance programme by the Devere Hotel Group, it was assumed that the site would be Brighton’s most famous hotel the "GRAND" this would turn out to be correct.
The interesting thing about the project would be some ten years previous we had just finished installing the main front elevation signage reading "GRAND" which consisted individual built up letters with inset ICI opal acrylic faces and original half round gold leaf oak profiles all illuminated via internal cold cathode neon tubing, unfortunately the illumination had began to fail leaving the sign in need of urgent repair.
Having given Mr James Willis (Grand Maintenance Manager) various options on replacing the internal illumination, it would be decided to remove all existing and replace with high light output 12volt led’s giving the sign another 5years maintenance free illumination at much reduced costs. The installation took 5hours to complete via self propelled access equipment. Mr Andy Doull (production Manager) said of his delight to carry out the Installation second time around along with senior engineer Mr Sean Burrell.
